Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Children or adolescents with this disorder are seen as negative, hostile and defiant. These behaviors infringe on the basic rights of others, although, they are not violent or destructive acts. Generally, Oppositional Defiant Disorder is more evident in interactions with adults or peers whom the child knows well. Therefore, this disorder is more commonly seen at home, but can be displayed at school. Signs of this disorder may occur in early childhood but typically begins by age eight and usually not later than earlt adolescents. Before puberty, this disorder is more common in males. After puberty the male/female ratio is more equal. Signs of Oppositional Defiant Disorder:
